About

Our newly constructed Madrid Adults centre covers more than 1,500 square metres, with 25 classrooms, multi-purpose spaces and an overall capacity for 3,000 students.

The state-of the-art learning environment in Paseo del General Martínez Campos is the perfect place for you to study in modern and peaceful surroundings.

Within easy reach of the new campus you have all of Madrid at your disposal, with the vibrant neighbourhoods of Chamberí and Malasaña just two steps away.

Madrid Adults is without doubt the best place to learn English and immerse yourself in British culture with your fellow students.

What we offer

The Madrid Adults centre offers English courses at all levels, with experienced, well-qualified teachers. We have the resources to support your learning, an extensive range of timetable options, and modern, well-equipped classrooms.

You can choose from General English, Cambridge English exam preparation, business English and a variety of skills courses.

To support your learning both inside and outside the classroom, you will have access to:

  • free membership of our library
  • the online student portal which offers a wide variety of learning resources
  • a counselling service (where students can practise speaking)
  • student programme talks
  • a cafeteria

Courses, dates and prices

Courses for adults October 2014 - September 2015

Our courses are organised across three terms. You can choose to study for one, two or three terms.

We also offer two cycles of intensive courses per term during the academic year, and summer courses.

Teaching hours are 50 minutes for all courses, except for Friday evenings and Saturdays (55 minutes) and summer courses (54 minutes).

How to pay

You can pay for courses in full, or with a deposit of €175 to reserve your place and pay the rest just before the course starts.

You can pay by:

  1. Credit or debit card
  2. Cheque to British Council
  3. Bank deposit paid to Barclays Bank ES65 0065 0100 1900 0152 7795; quote the student’s name and present the receipt to the office. Be sure to consult the availability of places with the Customer Services Office before payment.

Please note that we do not accept payments in cash or bank transfers.

Discounts

Families with three or more members enrolled in any British Council English course in Madrid are entitled to a 5% discount on the total cost of the course.

You will need to buy a textbook for most courses - these are available at a special discount at the centre during the first week of term.

Terms and conditions

  • The British Council reserves the right not to open a class which does not have a minimum of 8 students enrolled. If we cancel a course for which you have registered we will offer you alternative courses in which places are available or give you a full refund.
  • The maximum number of students per class is 14, except in Speaking Skills courses where the maximum number is 12. However, in exceptional circumstances the number of students may vary slightly.
  • Customers who cancel a termly academic year course up until the day before the course start date have the right to a refund of the amount paid minus a €60 penalty for administration costs. Course fees are not refundable once the course has started. Please refer to our cancellation policy (PDF 117kb).
