British Council is honoured to participate in the 31st edition of Girona Film Festival FILMETS with two programmes which promote the best of British short filmmaking internationally.

Sustainable Future for Fashion, a collection of films linked by their focus on sustainable fashion, from dance and conceptual films such as MJ Delaney’s, Who Made My Clothes which highlights the importance of a traceable supply chain to ensure fair working conditions for workers. To inspirational fast paced talking heads from Vogue and i-D magazine, featuring some of the industry leading voices in sustainable fashion, including Katharine Hamnett and Matthew Needham. The beautifully poetic film, Borderlands, from director Simon Lane, sets the context in which sustainable fashion is imperative to the future of the world.

Flare Films: A programme of nine recent short films from the UK that have all been shown at BFI Flare, London's LGBT Film Festival. The programme includes drama, documentary, poetry and dance. The films explore and celebrate a range of LGBT experience, but essentially, they are all about finding out - and standing up for - who you are.
