Aptis ESOL is a four-skills, computer-based English test, developed by the British Council, delivered in supervised face-to-face test sessions and regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
Aptis ESOL is recognised as an official proof of English language proficiency by multiple public bodies in Spain, including 14 autonomous communities, the CRUE and ACLES.
You should always confirm Aptis ESOL validity with the institution where you need to present your accreditation. (See Aptis ESOL recognition institutions list).
- Aptis ESOL General and Aptis ESOL for Teachers assess levels A1 to B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Candidates demonstrating a level above B2 are awarded a C on the CEFR.
- Aptis ESOL Advanced tests language proficiency from B1 to C2 on the CEFR.
With Aptis ESOL, you receive your results by email 48 to 72 hours after taking your exam. Your Aptis ESOL certificate is sent by courier within 7 to 10 days after results are issued.
