The time has come! On Friday 19 November the 48 participants who have taken part in this year’s edition of the Sustainable Challenge will reveal the projects they have developed over the last month.
Sustainable Challenge is an annual project promoted by MODA Fad, Design Manchester, the British Council and this year with the collaboration of Nova Universidade (Portugal) and Polimi (Italy), inspired by the commitment to create solutions that make the fashion industry sustainable, and which are also applicable to other sectors.
Divided into a dozen multidisciplinary and international teams, this year’s participants have had to create fashion-related projects based on the concept of industrial symbiosis, advised by 9 experts in sustainable fashion and guided by the project’s two curators, Elizabeth Cardwell, a fashion stylist and educator at Liverpool John Moores University, and Veronica Kuchinow, a specialist in industrial symbiosis and efficient resources as a business tool towards the circular economy.
This event forms part of the Design Manchester festival programme, taking place from 15 to 21 November.
The presentation can be attended in person by booking a ticket here. It’s also possible to watch it on-line on the FAD YouTube channel here.
