Discover Logroño from a new perspective during Concéntrico 2025, taking place from 19 to 24 June. The new edition of the international architecture and design festival comes with a renewed focus: dialogue between designers and communities will take centre stage, alongside a programme that responds to today’s most pressing challenges. Thanks to the support of the British Council in Spain, the festival will feature two projects led by UK-based artists.
The design duo Soft Baroque will present Dancing Bench, a piece from their series of mobile furniture in which they animate ordinary objects through a mechanism of moving parallel planes. When visitors sit on the bench, they are invited to manually rotate the piece, creating a surreal combination that evokes an optical illusion and an unusual ergonomic sensation. Founded in 2013 by Saša Štucin and Nicholas Gardner in London, Soft Baroque works at the intersection of object design and art, focusing on the creation of works that explore contradictory functions and aesthetics, while maintaining both beauty and the logic of consumption.
Meanwhile, artist and spatial designer Sahra Hersi will lead Design Your Own Community Garden, an open and participatory workshop inviting attendees to imagine, sketch and design their own community garden on-site. Over the course of two hours, Hersi invites participants to envision communal gardens that support biodiversity while also serving as spaces for gathering, play and rest. At the end of the session, all designs will be brought together to form a large collective landscape that reflects a greener, more diverse and more connected city. Sahra Hersi is an artist and designer whose public and collaborative practice focuses on people, places, and the communities that inhabit shared spaces.
