On 2 June at 19:00 h you're invited to the Academia de Cine de Madrid to enjoy a special screening of the BAFTA Shorts 2025, a British Council International Touring Programme in association with the British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA).
The programmeis a selection of live action and animated short films which were all nominated for the 2025 BAFTA awards, along with the winners in each category. Together, the collection offers a brilliant snapshot of the most talented new filmmakers currently working in the UK. With representation from our various nations and regions, and exploring a range of perspectives and identities, the films span intimate and personal essays through to broad and ambitious grand-scale entertainment.
The screening will be open to the public with prior registration, which will be available on the Activities section of the Academia de Cine's website.
The seven short films have a total running time of approximately 126 minutes and are not suitable for viewers under 15 years of age. The shorts will be screened in English with Spanish subtitles.

Mog's Christmas (UK, 2024, 23 min)

The Flowers Stand Silently, Witnessing (UK, 2024, 17 min)

When a Palestinian filmmaker based in Scotland unearths a rarely seen Scottish film archive of Palestinian wildflowers, he decides to reclaim the footage. Rock, Paper, Scissors (UK, 2024, 21 min)
