As part of its program to promote professional exchange between the United Kingdom and Spain, the British Council has formed an alliance with the Teatros del Canal and the Centro Danza Canal in order to organize an exclusive and unique workshop given by Hofesh Schechter’s prestigious British company on the occasion of the presentation in Madrid of Grand Finale.
The workshop will be divided into three parts. During the first part the company will teach a class to familiarize the participants with the principles of Hofesh Schechter’s characteristic movements, and how the use of improvisation is a key element in his choreographies. The second part will give participants the opportunity to learn part of Grand Finale. The final part of the workshop will be a Q&A session about the work undertaken that morning or any other question related to the company or life as a professional dancer.
The selected participants will be Dancers over the age of 18 who are either finishing their training or are already professionals. The workshop will last 2 hours and will be conducted in English.
A Committee designated by the British Council will assess the nominations and offer 25 dancers the possibility of participating in this workshop as part of the British Council's talent programme. A waiting list will be created depending on the total number of applicants.
