Sustainable Challenge, the annual MODA-FAD programme committed to promoting sustainability within the fashion industry, returns with its 7th edition dedicated to the theme of Collective Mending, within the framework of 080 Barcelona Fashion.
From 12 to 15 November, the Disseny Hub Barcelona will host 30 students from schools across nine European countries who have taken on the challenge of working together to explore the world of fashion through the lens of mending, repairing, and patching. This year’s curator will be British designer Amy Twigger Holroyd, who will share her expertise in dynamic repair and her research on post-growth fashion systems with the participants.
The project presentation will take place on 17 October at 1:15 p.m. at Disseny Hub. Speakers will include Salvi Plaja, President of FAD; Charo Mora, project collaborator and fashion culture specialist; and Amy Twigger Holroyd, Associate Professor of Fashion and Sustainability at Nottingham School of Art & Design. Admission is free with prior registration.
This edition of Sustainable Challenge is made possible thanks to the support of the Barcelona City Council and DHub, with additional support from the Government of Catalonia, in partnership with the Embassy of the Netherlands and the British Council.
