First festival in Spain devoted to virtual, augmented and mixed realities
Following on from the four snacks presented in 2018 of the best immersive realities experiences in the fields of performing arts, music, fashion and documentaries, the British Council and Fundación Telefónica are launching XRFest, the first festival of immersive realities that will offer an overview of this sector that is inundating education, entertainment, journalism and art. From 25 to 28 June, Espacio Fundación Telefónica will host a selection of 14 experiences produced in the United Kingdom and Spain which present the latest technological progess in terms of virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality.
The public will be able to enjoy these experiences free of charge (prior reservation). The programme also includes three workshops focused on how to understand and develop new tools related to the production of virtual reality pieces. Catering for professionals from the sector (audiovisual directors, screenwriters and journalists) the workshops will be led by the Limina Inmersive studio (June 26-27) and Ian Forrester from the R & D department of the BBC (June 28).
The general public will be able to discover the latest progress made in the industry and to discover the future of our relationship with screens thanks to keynotes and round tables that bring together the greatest experts in the field such as the Bafta award-winning Catherine Allen, the head of the department of R & D at the BBC, Ian Forrester, the director of special projects at Rewind Studio, Oliver Kibblewhite and many more. The multimedia artist Chagall will close the festival with her interactive show generated by the movements of her body and her Mimu Gloves.
