Teaching for Success - Teacher Conference, 1 October in Valencia

Welcome to our ninth annual Teacher Conference!

Once again we will have a full programme of practical teacher training sessions to help and inspire you over the teaching year. Our conference is ideal for education professionals from all backgrounds so whether you work in Primary, Secondary or Adult education in a bilingual school or academy we promise that you will find just the right sessions to support your development as a teacher.

Our speakers and sessions

Our speakers will cover a full range of themes which are of interest to busy teachers today.

This year we are delighted to welcome Jeremy Harmer (Richmond Publishing) to give our opening plenary session:

Through a glass darkly: does ELT have a future?
There is no doubt that things are changing at a vertiginous rate – new-market and low-end disruption threaten a whole lot of things we do. So it would help to have a view of what the future holds, because “change is very slow – until it isn’t”

This talk will look at ELT in this rapidly-changing world and discuss (digital) challenges ‘from outside’, challenges about the syllabus, the kind of classrooms we should have, and the way we teach. It’s all a bit unnerving.

And how good are we at predicting the future anyway?
Professional Practices: Understanding Learners, Integrating ICT.

The closing plenary this year will be led by Alan Kennedy, creator of Storytime, a theatre-in-English project.

Our partners

A number of publishers will also join us - the publisher exhibition is a great opportunity for teachers to take a closer look at the latest teaching resources and books available for the classroom.

So come along, get to know other teachers over a coffee and sandwich, browse the books and teaching resources on display and above all enjoy some stimulating and practical talks given by our own teachers and other ELT experts.

Our venue and timetable

For the fourth year we will be holding our conference at the Colegio Alemán, our partner school in Valencia. The Colegio Aleman is an ideal venue to allow many more teachers to join us at our annual conference.
