 Our sessions

Session for Primary teachers by Brian Engquist (Pearson): Assess for success

We all want our pupils to become more independent and responsible for their learning, but this won’t happen without the right support. Enter assessment for learning! In this practical session we will consider how best to approach target-setting, feedback, self and peer-assessment in the primary classroom, all with the aim of empowering learners and raising standards.

Session for teachers of adults by Philip Cardiff (British Council Barcelona): Concordances in the ELT classroom

How can we achieve the goal of shifting the classroom focus from teacher to learner? In this workshop, we will consider the potential for using corpora in the ELT classroom to facilitate learner autonomy. Specifically, we will look at how concordances may be used to help learners identify collocations, grammatical patterns and language chunks. The session will include user friendly concordance ideas to take away.
