The 26th edition of the Fira de Titelles de Lleida will include the British company Blind Summit Theatre and its acclaimed show, The Table, in collaboration with British Council. Known as puppeteer masters and pioneers in the UK, Bling Summit Theatre is reinventing puppets for the contemporary adult public. Founded in 1997, the company has worked in productions around the world and its international tours are continuous. Responsible for the 18-centimetre Voldemort of the 2012 London Olympics inauguration ceremony, the company’s success is based on its accessibility, its amazing puppets and daring yet subtle puppeteering.
With ironic and intelligent humour, The Table is a cathartic tribute to puppeteering, inspired by Beckett, Yves Klein, the Bible and Ikea. This brilliant and amusing performance is two shows only and should not be missed.
One of the five best contemporary puppet shows of 2013 according to the Sunday Telegraph. First prize in the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Grand Prize winner of the Kontrapunkt Festival (Poland), among many other awards.
