The British Council, the Teatro Real and the Royal Ballet have joined forces to create Dance in the City, an inclusive dance project in which a collaborative flashmob which will take place simultaneously in the evening of 1 July in open spaces in more than 20 cities all over Spain.
We’re looking for trainers from the dance sector from all over Spain to take part in the project. On the one hand to participate in the collective creation of the flash mob’s choreography and on the other to teach it to the future participants in the flashmob who will be either professional or amateurs, of any age, with or without learning or physical disabilities and with any level of experience.
Two members of the Royal Ballet will visit the Teatro Real in Madrid from 13 to 15 April to prepare the choreography together with the Spanish trainers. The piece will be roughly 3 minutes long and will be based on the new adaptation of Swan Lake undertaken by the prestigious British choreographer Liam Scarlett.
