State-funded schools (colegios públicos) and state-subsidised schools (colegios concertados) in Spain are invited to apply to take part in Learning Sectors. Applications should be made by filling in the following application form. Schools from Madrid region must apply through the local authorities (the link for applications will be available soon).
The period for application will close on 30th June or when we have reached 100 applications, whatever happens first.
Who can apply
- Primary and secondary public schools in Spain
- Students aged 7-16 (we recommend 5º, 6º Primary & 1º, 2º ESO)
- Schools must be able to commit to a 6 month collaboration
Application process
- Complete the online application form
- Applications are reviewed by the British Council
- Selected schools are notified and matched with a partner school
Criteria for selection
- We expect to be able to find partners for 60-80 schools in Spain
- Schools will be selected based on their application/proposal as well as best match with a UK school.Selection will be solely at the discretion of the British Council with support from the regional authorities. Apart from best matching with UK schools, selection will prioritise rural schools, socio-economic factors and a successful track record working with gender and equality issues.

Before you apply
Please ensure that your school:
- Can commit to the full duration of the programme
- A minimum of two voluntary and committed teachers (one of them to be the Lead Coordinator) as well as the support of the Head of the school. Schools will need one extra teacher for each group they want to participate in the programme
- Is willing to collaborate with an international partner school, and has the necessary internet capacity to communicate with partner school
- Will adhere to safeguarding, data-protection and Formula One Trademark and property rights requirements.
- When selected, schools will be asked to sign a letter of agreement
