Step 1: Complete an application form

WHEN TO REGISTER

Find out about the different examination boards’ registration deadlines. 

DO YOU NEED TO MAKE ANY SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS? 

If you require special administration, for example extra time or special exams supervision due to a clash of exam papers, you will need to contact us at least six weeks before your first exam.

Step 2: Make payment

You will find the fees for all exams listed on the registration form. Your application will not be processed until you have paid for your exams.

Download our bank details (PDF 50kb) in order to make the payment by bank transfer.

PENALTY FEES 

Each examination board has a normal registration stage for each exam session. You may still be able to register for exams after this date, but you will have to pay a penalty fee. You can find more information about late registration penalty fees on your exam registration form.

Keep your stamped bank deposit slip/proof of payment as you will need this to complete your exam registration.

Step 3: Submit your registration

Submit the completed application form and a proof of payment to the British Council by email.

Step 4: Registration complete

You have successfully registered for school exams with the British Council.

You will receive your Statement of Entry and information about your examination venues approximately three weeks before your exams.

Registration dates and deadlines

There are four opportunities to sit IGCSE, International GCSE and A /AS level examinations every year.

•Examinations with Cambridge Assessment International take place in May/June and October/November.

•Examinations with Pearson Edexcel take place in January and May/June.

Bear in mind that for exams with special requirements, the enrollment deadline may vary, and it may be several weeks before the standard deadline. For further details, please contact your center.
